I love to compete athletically. My favorite sports are football and basketball. I am a performing musician as well – specializing in steel drums in percussion. My favorite genres of music are calypso, samba, hip-hop, and jazz.
Visit the campus! The best way to determine if PLU is the right school for you is to experience the university for yourself. Take a campus tour, stay overnight in a residence hall, eat a meal in the dining hall, visit a class, and meet current students and faculty all during a visit.
What I like the most about the Northwest is the variety of natural landscapes. Tacoma is within a few hours of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, Mt. Rainer, Snoqualmie Mountain Pass, and the Pacific Ocean which each provide unique recreation and leisure opportunities. I didn’t realize how much I valued the mountains and the water until I moved to the flatlands of Illinois for a two years and none of that was around!
As a new staff member on campus, I am still surprised by how willing students, staff, and faculty are to help each other on campus. PLU is more than a university; it is a learning community with caring individuals across campus
