June

June 1 Transfer Admission Decision Priority Date

Apply to transfer to PLU by June 1 (the application is free), and receive an admission decision and notification of your academic scholarship eligibility within three weeks.

June 1-July 9 New Student Registration

First-year students who have committed to PLU will receive their fall class schedule, meet virtually with a PLU advisor to review the schedule and learn more about academic expectations and path to graduation. Additionally, they’ll have opportunities to connect with Student Financial Services and other PLU resources.

June 2 - Transfer Talks Webinar

Transfer Tell-All: Hear from current transfer students about their experience transferring to PLU, being a transfer student on campus, and tips they have for students going through the transfer process.

June 4 - Suit Up for Senior Year Webinar

The College Search Process 101: Where do I start?: This webinar will cover things like how to choose a college, the difference between private and public universities, community colleges and technical colleges, what questions you should be asking to narrow down your search and how to finally decide where to apply.

June 9 - Transfer Talks Webinar

Commuter Students: Assistant Director of Commuter and Transfer Student Communities Luke Ruiz, along with three current commuter students, will discuss the transfer and commuter community and resources on campus.

June 10 New Transfer Student Registration

During registration, new transfer students will meet virtually with a PLU advisor to register for fall classes and review their path to graduation. Additionally, students will have opportunities to connect with Student Financial Services and other PLU resources.

June 16 - Transfer Talks Webinar

Academic Resources & Planning: Two of PLU’s academic advisors from our Center for Student Success will be joined by two faculty advisors to talk about the resources and process for planning for your Junior and Senior years at PLU, including your senior capstone.

June 18 - Suit Up for Senior Year Webinar

College Applications 101: How to land in the ‘Yes’ pile: This webinar will cover everything related to the application to a 4-year university or college, and how it is viewed through the eyes of a college admission professional. We’ll talk about things you can do to stand out from the crowd! What classes should you be taking in high school? What experiences are important? Will a bad grade in one class ruin the chances of getting into your dream college?

June 23 - Transfer Talks Webinar

Finances after PLU: Assistant Director of Student Financial Services Kelly Lauderdale will share tips on financial literacy and what to expect budget-wise following graduation from your undergraduate program.

June 24 - New Transfer Student Registration

July 16 - Suit Up for Senior Year Webinar

Financial Aid & Scholarships 101: Paying for College: Nervous about paying for college or just have questions about what financial aid is all about? We’ll walk you through financial aid terms and talk about the differences between grants, scholarships, and loans. We’ll also offer up some tips for starting to look for scholarships even before your senior year!

July 30 - Suit Up for Senior Year Webinar

College Bound Scholarship 101: We’ll cover how to use your Washington State College Bound Scholarship to its fullest, the different ways you can use College Bound at both public and private universities, and how you can check to see if you are still College Bound eligible. You’ll walk away feeling confident in the questions to ask colleges and how to take full advantage of this scholarship opportunity!

Running Start to 4-years 101: A University’s Perspective: This webinar will talk about Running Start from the vantage point of a 4-year college or university. How do you make sure you’re setting yourself up for success at a 4-year college as an incoming Running Start student?
