Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy program is competitive and each application is considered holistically.

The minimum requirements for admission to the MFT program are:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a major in Family Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work. Or a minimum of 15 semester hours  (or 22.5 quarter hours) in Family Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work.

If your major is not one of the above disciplines, and you want to see if you have met the course prerequisites, please fill out the Prerequisites Review Form and submit it along with copies of your transcripts.

Please note:  GRE is not required for your application to the PLU MFT program.
