Boyd Cowan, ARNP, PMHNP-BC


  • Biography


Boyd moved to the Pacific Northwest from New Mexico in 2003 and began his educational Journey that led to him completing his degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Seattle University in 2015.  Boyd also has a master’s degree in Existential Phenomenological Psychology from Seattle University. Early in his nursing career Boyd worked with chronically and acutely mentally ill patients in psychiatric inpatient settings.  Later on he began working in additional settings including intensive programs for patients with eating disorders and transcranial magnetic stimulation for patients with treatment resistant depression. Boyd’s long-standing passions include psychopharmacology and psychiatric treatment with treatment resistant populations. Boyd has worked as a legal consultant and expert in malpractice cases involving nurse practitioners and registered nurses. Boyd also has a general psychiatric private practice where he integrates his background as a psychotherapist with medication management.
