Catherine Swearingen, J.D., Associate Director of Career Development, has 14 years of experience as a career development counselor. Catherine received her B.S. in Natural Resources from Sewanee: The University of the South and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She comes to PLU from the University of Denver where she focused her career counseling on undergraduate business students in the Daniels College of Business and non-traditional students at The Women’s College at DU. Previously, Catherine served as Associate Director and then as Director of the Office of Career Services at Sewanee.
Catherine has a broad professional background, ranging from forester, lawyer, lobbyist, food pantry director, paralegal law adjunct instructor, family law mediator and career counselor. She is a certified MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory administrator. At DU she was appointed as adjunct faculty at The Women’s College. Catherine is also a career consultant for Dwellworks, an international relocation support services company.
