As companies navigate recruiting and hiring during the COVID-19 outbreak, many have shifted their recruiting models to online formats such as virtual career fairs and webinars.

As the Office of Alumni & Student Connections learns about free online recruiting opportunities for students, those opportunities will be listed here and on the Opportunities Board.

Employer Coffee Chat with United Way of Thurston County

Wednesday, April 8 from 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Make a hot cup of coffee or tea, get cozy, and get ready to discover opportunities! Join this virtual coffee chat to connect with United Way of Thurston County. This is an opportunity to learn about United Way’s non-profit, mission-driven career opportunities. A presentation about what it’s like to work for their organization, types of jobs, how to apply, and more will be covered, with time for Q&A at the end!

The Job Search During Coronavirus Webinar

Thursday, April 9 at 1 p.m.

This webinar will discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on the job search and identify industries that are being impacted. We’ll also cover strategies for networking, applying, and interviewing for positions during this time.

Wednesday, April 15 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m

Prepare for your job search by polishing your resume! You’ll hear from Alumni & Student Connections Director Kevin Andrew, and Human Resources Directors from the Washington State Office of Financial Managment, Emily Beck and Carlene Mealing-Baldwin.

Hear from Alumni & Student Connections and Rebuilding Hope, about non-profit careers. You’ll learn about the wide range of opportunities available and the benefits of working for a mission-driven organization.

Education Career Fair Lunch + Learn Webinar

Tuesday, April 28 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.

Prepare for the Virtual Education Career Fair! This webinar will discuss how to connect with employers through a virtual career fair, and provide tips for how to make a great impression.

PLU's Virtual Education Career Fair

Wednesday, April 29

The Education Career Fair has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 29 due to the transition to distance-learning. The event will take place in a virtual (online) format; more information and instructions to come!

This event is for K-12 schools and school districts to connect with PLU students interested in educational careers.
