Dr. Susan Harmon teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing research, marketing management, marketing strategy, consumer behavior and sustainable marketing. Prior to coming to PLU in 2006, she taught marketing courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level for eight years at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She received her Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Alabama. Dr. Harmon is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research and the Society for Marketing Advances. Her current research interests are focused on consumer behavior, particularly in the area of sustainability. Prior to entering academia, Susan worked over ten years at BellSouth in the area of customer satisfaction research and earlier at a custom marketing research firm; and continues to consult with small businesses and non-profit organizations in the areas of marketing and marketing research. Dr. Harmon’s hobbies include quilting, fiber arts, reading and being entertained by her cats.
