Rowena Hammill has been an active performer and teacher throughout her long career. As a cellist she has performed as soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, served as Associate Principal Cello for both the Los Angeles Chamber and Opera Orchestras, and played chamber music all over the United States from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. As a teacher she has worked with students of all ages at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, the University of Northern Iowa, California State University Northridge and Pacific Lutheran University. She is also cellist of the Girsky String Quartet.
