TACOMA, WASH. (Nov. 11, 2015)- MediaLab, the award-winning film production program at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU), will premiere its latest documentary, These Four Years, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.

These Four Years investigates the current state of higher education in North America, including factors that sometimes prevent potential students from pursuing four-year degrees. With the help of higher ed researchers, educators and students across the continent, the film shows the personal, professional and societal effects of higher education in the 21st century.

Four PLU students comprise the production team for These Four Years. Communication major Natalie DeFord ’16, Art and Design major Jasper Sortun ’16, business major Grace Takehara ’16, and communication major Evan Heringer ’16, began working on the project last fall.

MediaLab, an application-only program, features students whose specialties include photography, videography, graphic design, web design, public relations, film production and more. During its 10-year existence, MediaLab has received numerous national and international recognitions, including six Emmy nominations, three National Broadcasting Society awards, and two Rising Star Awards from the Canada International Film Festival, among other honors.

These Four Years will premiere at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, in the Microsoft Auditorium at the Seattle Public Library, located at 1000 4th Ave. Seattle, WA 98104.
