We have been offering WSU Urban IPM courses at PLU for more than a decade and we hope to continue this arrangement indefinitely. PLU offers a wonderful educational environment for our clients. Our participants appreciate all that the PLU staff does to make them feel comfortable. The catering, AV, and set-up staff are always helpful and efficient and the food is great! Many thanks to PLU.

Harmony Explosion

It’s hard to believe that next summer’s Harmony Explosion (HX) will be the 5th camp we have held at PLU. HX is a vocal music camp for students age 12 – 21. We are not large (usually 150 – 200 students and staff) but we have special needs surrounding our big Saturday music performance. We require housing, catering, ticket sales, advertising, stage set design and sound and lighting, which is all coordinated through Conference Services. We have a great working relationship with PLU’S staff; they go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need to have a successful camp. For those of you have have organized events such as ours, you know that things don’t always go as planned. We have found PLU’s staff to be able to change things late in the game to provide us with seamless service. PLU’s facilities are excellent, the campus is beautiful and their staff is top of the line.

Northwest Youth Leadership Conference

The Northwest Youth Leadership Conference has a gratifying 15 year relationship with Pacific Lutheran University as our home base for teens seeking improved leadership skills and patriotic education. We chose PLU because of its accessible campus, excellent accommodations and superior service. Each summer, approximately 100 students and adults gather on the grounds of the University to study all aspects of leadership. Students enjoy experiencing dormitory life, first-rate food service and great meeting room facilities.

Students attending our opening and closing banquets in the Scandinavian Cultural Center relish the rich cultural surroundings, as well as the delicious catered dinners. The beautiful campus environment allows team building activities on the expansive green lawns that connect academic buildings. High school students praise the tremendous opportunity to experience college life for five days at a top rated university in the Northwest region of the United States.

Your staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the whole event went really smoothly. The biggest issue we had was directing people to the correct building and good places to park, which is a pretty minor problem in the bigger scheme of things.

Tracy Johnston – independent guest

It was a pleasure staying on your campus while we attended the Mother Earth News Fair at the Puyallup Fairgrounds this past weekend. No problem with the key issues—Matthew resolved the room lock and we had a phone number to call to get into the building when we came back another time and no one was at the desk. They were very quick to let us in and give us swipe cards.

Also, I wanted to let you know that the students we worked with out of your office were very professional, friendly and helpful, and good representatives of PLU. It was also very helpful having keys to all the rooms we were using in the UC this time, so thanks for working that out for us.

The new Phillips Center and Eastvold Auditorium are fantastic venues, and I’m sure we’ll want to use them again, even when Lagerquist is available to us.
