2.3 Disclosure of Information (Including Personal Data) Retained Electronically

PLU will disclose any retained electronic communications or documents related to or created by students, employees, or others when such disclosure is consistent with university policies and/or with local, state, or federal law, including, without limitation, the Family Education and Privacy Rights Act (FERPA).

Library patron data is held in strict confidence. Book circulation data is retained only in aggregated form for management of library collections; circulation records cannot be associated with individual borrowers once items are returned. Library patron data, maintained in accordance with Washington State Law and guidelines established by the Council of the American Library Association and its Intellectual Freedom Committee, may be disseminated only by court order.
