2.2 Document Retention

Electronic communications or documents are not retained or backed up by the university except a) by virtue of using I&TS maintained document storage systems (e.g. Netstor & Banserve3), which are backed up regularly for disaster recovery purposes, b) at the direction of a vice president/provost (e.g., in compliance with a federal grant requirement), or c) in keeping with the University Archives’ Records Retention Policy for preservation of PLU’s historic record. While Google Suite (including Gmail) retains email correspondence, documents, and web pages for each account holder indefinitely, PLU protects and discloses these items consistent with this policy.
