Rose Hashimoto

Applied Violin and Viola Lessons

Rose Hashimoto has performed with ensembles including Jigsaw Chamber Ensemble, North Corner Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Chamber Orchestra, Mozart and Mutts, Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, Semplice Players (at Bargemusic), A Far Cry, Shattered Glass Ensemble, and the Aeolus, Argus, Thalia, Momenta, and Ulysses Quartets. She has participated in music festivals including T-Town Chamber Music Festival, Icicle Creek, Birdfoot, Manchester Summer Chamber Music, Lucerne, Banff, the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove, Yellow Barn, Taos, and Kneisel Hall. She played with the Experiential Orchestra on the Grammy-winning recording of Ethel Smyth’s The Prison and on A Far Cry’s Grammy-nominated album, Visions and Variations. Rose co-founded Listen Closely, an organization dedicated to building community in upper Manhattan through music. She earned a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School as a student of Toby Appel and a Master of Music and Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes College of Music in New York, where she studied with Hsin-Yun Huang and Laurie Smukler.

Rose also currently serves on the viola and violin faculty of Suzuki Institute of Seattle. She has previously taught for Seattle Youth Symphony, Lucy Moses School, the Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, and Harmony Program.
