Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Plan

Per the charge of PLU’s President’s Council delivered in 2018 and as outlined in PLU’s Strategic Plan in 2020, the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Justice and Sustainability and the Dean of Inclusive Excellence worked with the University Diversity Committee and the campus community to create a Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.

The plan was unanimously endorsed by the Board of Regents on Oct. 16, 2020.

The four objectives of the plan are

  • Climate
  • Access, recruitment, and retention
  • Academic programs and curriculum
  • Institutional vitality and viability

Each objective contains 3 goals as well as clear strategies, and a timeline is currently being developed by the University Diversity Committee to achieve these goals.

Work on achieving the plan’s objectives commences immediately.
