September 17th in the U.S. is Constitution Day, also known as Citizenship Day, honoring the day 39 delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the United States Constitution in 1787. At PLU, this day is typically recognized by a variety of events such as a “Get-Out-the-Vote” campaign by the Associated Students of Pacific Lutheran University (ASPLU) and classroom presentations, lectures, or seminars. These events take place annually on the 17th of September (if the 17th is a Saturday or Sunday, the event is celebrated on the 16th or the 18th respectively). Each year’s events will be posted to this page on September 17th or as soon as they are finalized prior to the 17th.
