Biography

Dr. Tiffany Artime joined the PLU Psychology Department in 2016. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Missouri- St. Louis with a specialization in trauma studies, and her doctoral internship was at Washington State University Counseling and Testing Services. Dr. Artime is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and has a small private practice in the Tacoma area in addition to her professional activities at PLU.

Dr. Artime’s research interests focus on trauma and sexual victimization. She investigates various forms of posttraumatic reactions and resilience that are experienced by trauma survivors. Recently, she has been focused on studying the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based trauma-focused treatments in university counseling centers for student sexual assault victims and combat veterans. Dr. Artime also consults with universities to assist in conducting climate surveys on sexual assault and intimate partner violence and has conducted research for the YWCA on experiences of racism among their clients. Additionally, Dr. Artime has served as an advisor for student research on a diverse range of topics including depression in older adults and parenting style among military families.

Originally from Colorado, Dr. Artime enjoys the mountains and outdoor adventures. Happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest, she takes advantage of being close to the water, patronizing the arts, and taking her labradoodle on walks along Ruston waterway. She also loves to travel, readings, and watching good TV.
