Desiree Colvin, MS, RN

After a career as a music educator, I earned my BSN at University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing.  My clinical experience includes adult/general emergency, pediatric emergency and trauma, pediatric ICU, and school nursing. I have also worked in nurse recruiting and been the manager for school health services for a public school district in Maryland where I led a team to establish the first school-based health center in the county.  My master’s is in health services leadership and management with a focus in education.  I am currently pursuing my PhD in nursing from The George Washington University School of Nursing.  My research is focused on the intersection of health and education for children and students in rural and historically disenfranchised communities.
