Biography

Kristen Ziegler-Horwath, MSN, ARNP, CNM, C-EFM is a practicing Certified Nurse-Midwife and has served in both rural and urban communities in Washington since 2013. She strives to provide patient-centered and evidence-based care to all, while promoting individual preferences and a safe, healthy, and positive birth experience. In addition, she is an experienced surgical assistant. Kristen is a proud PLU alum and is thrilled that her professional journey has brought her back to PLU as a faculty member.  She is a passionate and dedicated nursing educator and has taught a variety of courses in the ABSN program focusing on maternal newborn nursing, NCLEX readiness, research, theory, and evidence-based practice.  In her spare time, Kristen stays busy as a mom of three (Zelda, Felix, and Ari) and enjoys running, listening to audiobooks, cooking, and volunteering with the elementary school PTO.
