PNWU Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

The Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences School of Dental Medicine’s Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Program is the newest addition to the PNWU suite of health care programs offered at their campus in Yakima.The DMD curriculum integrates academic content on communication, behavioral modification, social determinants of health, practice management, evidence-based dentistry, ethics, law, and regulatory concepts across all four years. Clinical experiences in community-based clinics and rotations in medically underserved areas allow students to apply these concepts with diverse patient populations.

  • Organic Chemistry (2 courses)
  • General Biology or Zoology (2 courses)
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology (2 courses)
  • General Biochemistry
  • General Microbiology
  • General Physics
  • English
  • Social/Behavioral Science Course

  • CHEM 115 & 116 (MATH 140 is a co-requisite for CHEM 115)
  • CHEM 331 & 332 (with accompanying labs)
  • BIOL 225 & 226
  • BIOL 205 & 206 or BIOL 387 & 453

  • BIOL 201 or 342
  • PHYS 125 or 153 (with accompanying labs)
  • FYEP 101
  • PSYC, SOCI, or another social sciences course
