Susan Palo Cherwien

Musician, poet and hymn writer

Susan Palo Cherwien is an international leader in creating lyrics suffused with the imagery of the earth, its diverse creatures, and seasons. A musician, poet, and hymn writer, her many texts appear in collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe. With an undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University, she also holds the Abschlussprüfung in voice from the Hochschule der Künste Berlin, and a Master of Liberal Studies from Mundelein College. She is the author of two recently published works, O Blessed Spring: Hymn Texts of Susan Palo Cherwien and Come, Beloved of the Maker (Augsburg Fortress).
