Senior Content Marketing Manager,

  • Major: English, Literature Concentration
  • Minor: Communication

How did your English major establish a foundation for your career path?

My career path has spanned public relations, book publicity, and now content marketing. Writing, storytelling, and critical thinking are skills that I learned through my English major, and they’ve been essential in every stage of my career.

What do you love about your job?

My work as a Senior Content Marketing Manager involves developing content that educates small businesses about how they can help grow their business using advertising solutions. I love that my job allows me to be creative and work on all different types of content—like videos, guides, and case studies. Additionally, my role gave me the opportunity to move abroad to London, and I’m loving exploring the UK and the rest of Europe.

What was your favorite part about majoring in English?

I always loved the range of books I got to read (like Beloved, Maus, Lose Your Mother, and many others that I still have on my shelves), and the meaningful discussions we had in class about them. My capstone seminar was my favorite class at PLU. We were a small group, and spent the semester analyzing the texts together and writing our hearts out.
