You Ask, We Answer: Why do I need to log in to my PLU applicant portal?
If you’ve recently applied to PLU, you may be asking (or your parents are asking) one or all of these questions:
- How will I know if I’ve been admitted?
- Did I receive a scholarship – and how much?
- Has PLU received my FAFSA or WASFA?
- Where do I find my PLU ID number?
- I know I’ve been admitted… so what happens next?
Here’s the good news: the answer to every single one of those answers lives in one place – your PLU Applicant Portal. This is THE place to go once you apply to PLU, whether you applied through Common App, Niche Direct Admission, Automatic Admission, or our transfer application.
How to access your PLU student applicant portal:
If you didn’t realize you had an applicant portal, you’re not alone. Between messages from multiple colleges and overactive spam filters, the original message we sent you about how to get started on your portal can be easy to miss. Here’s how to find it:
- Head to your email inbox (if you’ve got multiple emails, it’s the email address you used on your PLU application).
- Search for messages from admission@plu.edu, with a subject line that will include “…important next steps” or will even have “student applicant portal” in the body of the message.
- You can also look for an email with a subject line “…a decision has been made on your PLU application.”
- Follow the instructions to log in using the temporary PIN we share in the email. After that, you’ll be prompted to create a password, which is what you’ll use moving forward.
- PIN not working? That probably means you already created a password. Click on the ‘Forgot Your Password?’ link and follow those next steps.
- Still can’t get into your portal? Connect with your PLU Admission Counselor, who can help you reset and send you a new PIN to get in!
What you’ll find in your PLU applicant portal:
- Your official decision letter! Official admission letters include:
- Your initial merit scholarship(s) amount.
- Your PLU student ID.
- Direct admission details for academic majors that qualify (e.g. Business, Computer Science, Education, Nursing).
- To see your official admission letter and scholarship(s) offer, click on the button View your Decision Letter in the portal. If you’ve already viewed the letter, the button will now read View Your Most Recent Update.
- Your full financial aid offer (pro tip: make sure you’ve submitted the FAFSA or WASFA so we can put together the best possible financial aid award).
- Important next steps and helpful checklists.
Your PLU student applicant portal is where we post updates and important information that is specific to you, so we recommend you check your PLU portal regularly as you go through your college admission and decision process!
