Computer Science is a rigorous degree emphasizing broad core topics, such as operating systems and software engineering, and a variety of electives, such as artificial intelligence, computer security and graphics. Computing is relevant to nearly any discipline, and PLU computer science students double major in areas as diverse as art, biology, economics and music.
Small classes mean PLU computer science students learn hands-on software development practices with full-time faculty members. As seniors, students apply these skills to complete a yearlong software project of their choosing focusing on areas such as mobile applications, web programming and game development.
