We are delighted to announce that the Pacific Lutheran University Choir of the West will be on tour in California in late January!
Our tour program is titled “Seeking Light and Beauty“, with musical evocations of themes of strength, hope, healing, and joy. The 30-voice ensemble will feature works by Felix Mendelssohn, Johannes Brahms, Susan LaBarr, PLU alum T.J. Wheeler, Joan Szymko, Hans Bridget Heruth, Brian Galante, J.A.C. Redford, Ryan O’Neal, and Stephen Sondheim. We will be joined by mezzo soprano and Associate Professor of Music Soon Cho, and collaborative pianist Amy Boers.

The Choir of the West was established in 1926 and has a long history of excellence. The choir was one of the first Lutheran college choirs to tour regionally, nationally and internationally, and has appeared at numerous prestigious choir conferences. The choir is under the direction of Brian Galante, Director of Choral Studies and Associate Dean for the School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
