New Student Orientation

Due to inclement weather, New Student Orientation will start at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019--one hour later than originally scheduled.

New Student Orientation - February 5, 2019

New Student Orientation will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. Check-in at the entrance of the Anderson University Center. A free lunch buffet will be provided for all participants.

Schedule for the day: 

What: Spring New Student Orientation
When: 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
10:30 a.m.: Doors open, coffee and tea service available (AUC Lobby)
11:00 a.m.: University Welcome (AUC Regency Room)
11:15 a.m.: Ready for More Than a Job? Vocation at PLU (AUC Regency Room)
12:00 p.m.: Lunch with Faculty and Tutors (AUC CK Hall East)
1:00 p.m.: Lutes as Active Bystanders (AUC Regency Room)
2:00 p.m.: Transfer Student Resources (AUC Regency Room)
2:15 p.m.: Conclusion (AUC Regency Room)
2:30 p.m.: Military-Affiliated Orientation Session (AUC Room 213)

Given precarious weather conditions, Orientation will not be required for all new transfer students as we do not want anyone to jeopardize their safety for the sake of attendance. We hope to offer some online videos or modules for those who cannot attend.

New Student Orientation is an exciting event designed to welcome new students to PLU’s vibrant community and allow you to get connected, to be involved and to stay informed. It is a time to learn about the resources you will need to be successful during your time at PLU and to make connections with your fellow Lutes.

We will help you prepare for your first semester by directing you to various academic resources including your academic advisor, academic assistance, career connections, and other essential offices. You will learn about ways to become involved on campus and engage in exciting PLU traditions. We look forward to meeting you and being a part of your collegiate experience.

I have registered for classes. What do I do next?


Once you are registered for classes, you will be able to get your PLU ID card. At PLU your ID Card is called your Lute Card.
