Biography

Jenifer Nazarowski is a licensed clinical social worker, certified care manager, and experienced educator with over two decades of work in behavioral health, crisis intervention, private practice, and social work leadership. Her professional background spans emergency medicine, psychiatric care, geriatric services, and trauma-informed case management. She has served in leadership roles at Western State Hospital, VillagePlan, and currently is the director of a crisis women’s home, and has extensive experience working with state agencies and forensic populations.

Professor Nazarowski is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis, violence prevention, and clinical supervision. She currently serves on the board of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Pierce County and has served on ethics committees and advocacy boards throughout her career.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, she is an active advocate for ethical adoption reform and birth parent support. She has partnered with legislators to advance trauma-informed, family-centered policies and continues to raise awareness about adoption-related grief and lifelong impacts.

Professor Nazarowski is passionate about mentoring future social workers and bringing real-world practice into the classroom to equip students for ethical, compassionate, and community-focused care.
