Biography
Michelle Jaquish earned her Master’s in Social Work in 2016 at the University of Washington at the School of Social Work. She went on a human rights trip to the Philippines shortly after learning her Master’s Degree to learn more about her Filipino heritage and women’s rights. When she returned, she spent 2016-2021 working at Downtown Emergency Services Center, serving homeless adults in direct service and supervisory roles in Seattle. She launched her private practice, Banshee Therapy Services in 2021 where she works with LGBTQIA2S+ communities, Asian Pacific Islanders, as well as BIPOC and other communities on the margins. She became an adjunct at the UW School of Social Work, and taught classes to BASW and MSW students in community-centered practice, anti-racist and anti-oppressive social work, and clinical social work. She still maintains a connection with the UW School of Social Work and is currently a field instructor for MSW students and Clinical Director at Trans-WA, the Transgender Health and Wellness Center of Washington.
