International Honors Program

PLU’s International Honors Program (IHON) is open to every student, no matter your major or high school background.

IHON classes are and discussion-based, and throughout the program you’ll build on the skills you’re also developing in your major to become an effective thinker, communicator, and global citizen.

Application Details

  • To apply to the IHON program, you have to be admitted to the university. Still need to apply to PLU? You can get started here.
  • To access the IHON application, you’ll need to log in to your PLU student applicant portal.
    • You can directly access the application here after your login, or you’ll see it as an ‘optional’ item on your application checklist in the portal.
    • Not seeing the checklist item? Connect with your PLU Admission Counselor, who can get it added!
  • The IHON application is a short essay (200-250 words) in which you describe why the IHON program interests you.

IHON Application Dates

Priority Application Date: February 1, 2026
Apply by the February 1 priority date to guarantee that your application to IHON is in the first round of decisions.

Regular Application Date: April 1, 2026
Apply by April 1 to guarantee that you get your IHON decision in plenty of time before the May 1 National College Decision Date.

Final Priority Application Date: June 15, 2026
Apply by June 15 to ensure you get your IHON decision before fall class registration dates in July.
