If you’re passionate about how our planet works, climate change, natural disasters, or how humans impact the planet, PLU’s Earth & Environmental Science degree lets you study it all. This new major builds on our long-standing Earth Science and Environmental Studies programs, bringing the best of both together into one interdisciplinary degree. Because it’s a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), the program emphasizes strong scientific training across disciplines like geology, environmental science, biology, chemistry, physics, and data analysis. These fields work together to help you understand how Earth’s systems function, and how human choices shape them.
As an Earth & Environmental Science student, you’ll get hands-on experience through labs, field work, or research, and have opportunities to study abroad in places like Norway, Costa Rica, New Zealand, and more. You’ll tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges of our time, while building real scientific skills that employers and graduate schools look for.
