You Ask, We Answer: What does spirituality look like at PLU?

You’re more than your major, your GPA, or your spot on the team. You’re a whole person. And at PLU, we believe that your spiritual life – however you define it – is a vital part of that whole. This belief in wholeness is rooted in the Lutheran tradition (ELCA) that founded PLU – a tradition known for its radical welcome, value of interfaith relationships, and commitment to justice.
As a student, spirituality at PLU could look like attending chapel (a 20-minute sacred pause in the day), participating in an interfaith event, having a classroom discussion about life’s big questions, volunteering at Community Meal, or taking a “nature break” among the beautiful big trees on campus.
Whether you are committed to a faith practice, still searching for answers, or simply focused on leading an ethical life, PLU is a place where you are encouraged to be your full, curious, and whole self. And, if you don’t quite know who that is yet, know that PLU is ready to explore that journey with you.
