Theses & Dissertations

The Pacific Lutheran University Archives collects theses, dissertations, and similar academic capstone works completed by students as part of the educational requirements for masters and doctoral degrees. These works are important to Pacific Lutheran University, reflecting the academic strengths and innovation of its students.

Submit Your Work

In addition to requirements specific to their respective program, each student completing a thesis, dissertation, or similar work is invited to submit one electronic copy, an abstract, and an electronically signed Submission Agreement for inclusion in the Archives by filling out this form.

Please note that the Archives only accepts final copies, free of comments, notes, and track changes, in PDF, MP3, and MP4 formats. If you do not submit an abstract, the first paragraph of your thesis or dissertation will be used as the description of your work in the Archives.

Theses and dissertations will be updated to include newly submitted scholarship every January and June. If you submit your thesis or dissertation between updates to the repository, your work will be included during the next update. However, please note that every student has the option of whether or not to make their work digitally available. Materials that are marked as unavailable through our website will still be made available on request to the Archives as per the submission form.

While departmental requirements for a title page may vary, the title page of your submission must include:

  • Title of scholarship
  • The name of the author
  • The degree being awarded
  • Date of award
  • The names of appropriate faculty advisors
