The Alger LGBTQ+ Scholarship is a $1750 per semester, award designed to lift up and affirm LGBTQ+ students at PLU. This scholarship stacks on financial aid.
This scholarship is attached to an internship position that requires that the recipient commit 10hrs/week as The Queer and Trans Programming Intern at the CGE. This scholar/intern will receive support and supervision from Talcott Broadhead, the Director of the Center for Gender Equity, and Luke Ruiz, the Assistant Director of the Diversity Center.
Through collaborative support, networking and collective programming this intern will bring fresh and relevant queer and trans programming to our PLU community.

The start date for internship: this position requires that the scholarship recipient shadow one, Queer and Trans Drop-in Hours session between selection date and end of the academic year. Additionally, the applicant will connect with current Alger LGBTQ+ Scholar via email and dialogue to ensure a supported transition. The internship starts officially the first week of September 2019.
