Collection Development

The library’s collection of academic journals, magazines, and newspapers, e-books, print books, and research databases and indexes is focused on supporting the core curriculum at PLU with an emphasis on undergraduate programs.

Library liaisons

Every department and academic program has a designated faculty library liaison who oversees faculty collection development requests for the library, and partners with the subject librarian to develop and maintain the library collection. If you have a request for a book, film, music score, or sound recording, you can send it to your liaison for review.

Journals

Library journal subscriptions are reviewed on an annual basis. Due to escalating journal subscription costs, the library’s ability to add new subscriptions is severely limited. Please check whether your journal is already available through one of our hundreds of databases or aggregators.

Purchase suggestions

If you are a faculty member, you can request books, films, music scores, and sound recordings by contacting your department or your subject librarian.
