We Ask, Students Answer: How’s the Food?

By Abbie Hughes

I just recently graduated from PLU (Spring 2025!), and as a senior, I would grab to-go meals at The Commons. While I appreciated a lot of the different offerings, my favorite was always the poke bowl! This is one of the many options that may pique the interest of vegetarian or vegan students.
Community and food go hand-in-hand at PLU. I bonded with friends over the ice cream machine (backlogged or not), the food options offered at Cross Cultures dining (like the orange chicken), and the desserts made by our PLU Bakery. Each time I stopped by the Old Main Market (OMM) to grab a coffee, I would see someone I knew and start a conversation.
There were countless times at OMM that a caprese sandwich or a bowtie pasta salad saved me for my late-night classes. I owe it to the student workers at OMM!
I could also be spotted at 208 Garfield studying for finals, located just off campus. I enjoyed quite a few helpings of avocado toast and homemade chips there!
