Finding a Home at PLU

Apply early for housing!

All new students are encouraged to live on-campus. PLU has 8 residence halls – to learn about each of them, visit Residential Life‘s website.

The “Living Plans and Learning Community application” is now available online! Apply for housing here.

On-Campus Housing Requirements

Students who are younger than 20 years of age or less than Junior Status (60 semester hours) on or before September 1 for the academic year, or on or before February 1 for the spring semester are REQUIRED to live on campus.

Students are also required to have a meal plan when living on-campus. To learn more, visit the Dining Services website.

On-Campus Housing Room Assignment Process

Once your housing application is complete, the Residential Life Office will place you in housing according to your preferences in the order in which they are received. You are placed into on-campus housing by the same process as any other PLU students. You may choose to live in a single room or with a roommate. Apply early!

Residential Life will email you your hall assignment first and later email you again with a room and a roommate assignment. All correspondence will be done via PLU email, so be sure to check your PLU email account!

Special Check-In Dates for International Students

Residential Life understands that international students face many unique challenges when settling into on-campus housing. International Students also must attend International Student Orientation prior to New Student Orientation begins. Therefore, International Students are allowed to arrive early to residence halls!

International Student check-in date to on-campus housing for the Fall semester is usually 7-9 days before the 1st day of class. For Spring semester, the check-in date is 2 days before the 1st day of class. All check-in happens at the Campus Safety office. Please be sure to make this time frame!

What Should International Students Do During Breaks?

The residence halls close during Winter Break and Summer Break; however, there are two halls available for those students unable to travel home. If you know you will need to live on campus during these periods, just be sure to contact the Residential Life Office.
