Careers in kinesiology-related fields are oriented toward evidence-based service of others, and professionals in these fields get to build a life helping others overcome critical physical and mental challenges as well as accomplish significant movement-related goals. Promoting healthy activity and movement can change an individual’s quality of life for the better, bringing them greater joy, comfort, and confidence.
A master’s in kinesiology opens the door to full-time teaching, coaching and strength-and-conditioning positions in colleges and universities, as well as administrative and leadership roles in the health and fitness industry. With a graduate degree, you can expect to qualify for jobs such as a strength and conditioning coach, a sports psychologist, exercise physiologist, and more.

Low Residency and Hybrid Format
The MSK is a two-year low residency program over the course of 26 months, but has an option to be completed in as few as 14 months. Classes will be in the evenings one or two nights per week and a mix of traditional and hybrid in design. Students with flexible work schedules can generally work part-time or even full-time.
This scholarship award is distributed over the course of the academic program. It helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition for the entire degree program; up to $5,000, not exceeding the program tuition.
A portion of the scholarship will be awarded each term, based on the number of credits for which you register as a percentage of the credits required for the degree program. After the $5000 has been fully spent, scholarship funding will not be available for any additional coursework.
This scholarship can be awarded in addition to graduate assistantship and alumni tuition discount for which you may be eligible. However, it cannot be used together with other PLU’s scholarships, International Grant, Nordic Grant, and other international student grants.
This scholarship is not available if 100% of the student’s tuition cost is being covered by any single governmental benefit.
Yes. You probably should apply for federal financial aid, too. Scholarship awards will only reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition, and financial aid can help pay for the rest. PLU’s school code is 003785. Detailed information is available at the Federal student aid website.
PLU’s employee tuition remission benefits cannot be used with this scholarship.
