      • Anthroplogy The four fields of anthropology are cultural anthropology, how people live in groups today, linguistics, the study of language, biological anthropology, the study of humans and other primates as physical beings today and in the past, and archaeology, the study of cultures in the past.
      • Chinese Studies PLU’s Chinese Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program which is designed to provide students interested in China a broad foundation in Chinese language, culture, and history, and an opportunity to focus on the religious-philosophical world view and the economic structure of China.
      • Economics The Pacific Lutheran University Economics department offers a multitude of ways to study the field of economics. Are you interested in understanding how choices made individually and collectively affect issues such as immigration, health care, environmental issues, or income inequality?
      • English The study of English offers excellent preparation for any future requiring integrative thinking, skills in writing, discernment in reading and an appreciation of the human experience and aesthetic values.
      • Gender, Sexuality, and Race Studies The Gender, Sexuality, and Race Studies (GSRS) program at PLU provides students with an innovative curriculum that examines how gender, sexuality and race are embedded in complex dynamics of power and resistance.
      • Global Studies The Global Studies Program educates students to engage critically and actively with contending perspectives on global issues, their origins, and possible solutions to global problems drawing on methods and perspectives from multiple disciplines.
      • History History students at Pacific Lutheran University develop the skills needed to ask important questions, collect and evaluate evidence, work collaboratively with others, and offer clear and evidence-based explanations of past events and phenomena.
      • Holocaust and Genocide Studies The Holocaust, other genocides, and mass crimes against humanity are phenomena that command serious study and civic engagement.
      • Individualized Major The individualized major offers students the chance to design and propose their own program of study, charting a course through PLU’s curriculum that allows them to pursue their interests and prepare for their future.
      • Languages & Literatures PLU offers majors and minors in Chinese, Classics (Greek and Latin), French, German, Norwegian, and Spanish (Hispanic and Latino Studies). Students can develop language and cultural skills while traveling abroad, studying at universities overseas, and through the Wang Center for Global and Community Engaged Education.
      • Master of Fine Arts The Master of Fine Arts is an innovative three-year, four-residency program in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
      • Native American & Indigenous Studies Native American and Indigenous Studies is an exciting and rapidly developing field that complicates traditional academic disciplinarity, which was developed without serious attention to Indigenous philosophies or intellectualism.
      • Philosophy Undergraduate study in philosophy is fundamental in pursuing the most important questions regarding one's understanding of themselves, others and the world in which they live.
      • Political Science The student of politics seeks to understand how governments are organized and structured, how political processes are employed, and the relationship of structures and processes to societal purposes.
      • Pre-Law Pacific Lutheran University’s Pre-Law advising program is designed to help students interested in attending law school find the answers to the many questions that they may have.
      • Publishing and Printing Arts PPA readily complements majors like English, communication, foreign languages, public relations, journalism, marketing, and graphic design. But students in other disciplines also benefit from PPA’s links to publishing opportunities in those fields.
      • Religion The study of religion will help you speak to why religion gives meaning and purpose to billions of people on the planet.
      • Sociology and Criminal Justice Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Pacific Lutheran University teaches students to understand the social and structural context of our human experience.
      • Stem Education Minor The STEM Education minor will provide focused study for students who are interested in both Education and the STEM fields. The program is well suited for any student interested in exploring the vocation of teaching or who enjoys science outreach and science communication.
