CS-STEM Teacher Candidates at Western Regional Noyce Conference Spring 2023

Noyce Summit (June 2023)

PI Munro and CS-STEM alumni Becca Anderson and Nicholas Celebrado will attend the annual Noyce Summit in Washington DC. The team will facilitate a workshop about the format and content of the CS-STEM Equity Seminars. Becca will also present a poster describing curricular changes she made this year to make a biology unit more culturally relevant.

Congratulations CS-STEM Graduates! (May 2023)

Congratulations to all five of our CS-STEM Teacher Candidates who earned their MAE degrees! We look forward to you teaching in your own classrooms in the fall and look forward to hearing about your first year during our Induction Seminars.

Congratulations to our CS-STEM Scholar Grayson Nottage who earned her Bachelor’s degree and was featured in the PLU News’ series about graduating seniors. We are excited as you transition into the PLU MAE program!

Western Regional Noyce Conference (March 2023)

PI Munro and CS-STEM Teacher Candidates Mackenzie Anderson, Nicholas Celebrado, Haila Ignacio, and Juliana Rendler attended the Western Regional Noyce Conference in Sacramento, CA. Nicholas served as a Voices from the Field panelist at the conference.

The conference was organized and hosted by the Western Regional Noyce Network that provides additional professional development opportunities to Noyce Scholars, PIs, and Alumni.

CS-STEM Alum Becca Anderson Interviewed by PLU News (January 2023)

Becca Anderson was interviewed by PLU News about her vocational path, the CS-STEM Program, and her experiences as a first year teacher at Sammamish High School. Becca completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2019 and then earned her teaching certificate through PLU MAE program as a CS-STEM Teacher Candidate.

PI Simic-Muller and CS-STEM Teacher Candidates Breanna Bolle and Emma Lavold attended the Western Regional Noyce Conference in San Diego, CA.

PLU awarded an NSF Grant through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (May 2020)

PLU faculty members Dr. Ksenija Simic-Muller, Dr. Wendy Gardiner, and Dr. Andrea Munro were awarded a grant funded by the National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program. You can read more about the program in this article by PLU News.
