Symone Montgomery, Therapist in Training

I’m a graduate student in Marriage and Family Therapy with a systems-based approach to
clinical work. I’ve always known I wanted to help people, and for a long time, I thought that path
would lead through medical school. But when I was introduced to MFT, something clicked—I
recognized the kind of work I was meant to do. Therapy offered a way to support people
emotionally and relationally, in ways that felt deeply aligned with who I am.
I’m passionate about working with families, couples, children, and adolescents, especially within
BIPOC communities. My clinical interests include identity development, trauma healing, and
navigating complex relational dynamics. I strive to create spaces where clients feel heard,
supported, and safe—especially when exploring difficult or vulnerable topics.
As a student, I approach therapy with openness and humility, ready to absorb as much
knowledge and insight as I can. I’m committed to building a space rooted in emotional safety,
cultural awareness, and meaningful connection, and I’m excited to continue learning as I grow
into this work.
