Build Your Nursing Practice Career with a DNP
Nurses with a DNP are eligible for leadership roles and ARNP certifications as well as for roles in research, administration and policy. In Washington state, an ARNP certification qualifies you for unrestricted practice autonomy as a nurse practitioner.
A DNP is also a fantastic option if you’re looking to specialize in a specific area of nursing, develop strategies for improvement in nursing practice, learn to use cutting-edge systems technology or assume leadership roles to design and implement health care policy.
We understand that pursuing your doctorate degree may seem financially overwhelming but completing your degree now could open doors to higher paying positions. We would like to help make this opportunity a reality for you. With the “Build Your Career Scholarship”, you will find it more affordable to achieve your goals.
Hear From a DNP Graduate
Our DNP program prepares nurses at the highest level of proficiency as they learn to translate science into clinical practice. Students develop the skills to lead collaboratively, integrate research into care, and design better healthcare delivery systems.
This scholarship award is distributed over the course of the academic program. It helps reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition for the entire degree program; up to $9,000, not exceeding the program tuition.
A portion of the scholarship will be awarded each term, based on the number of credits for which you register as a percentage of the credits required for the degree program.
After the $9,000 has been fully spent, scholarship funding will not be available for any additional coursework.
This scholarship can be awarded in addition to graduate assistantship and alumni tuition discount for which you may be eligible. However, it cannot be used together with other PLU’s scholarships, International Grant, Nordic Grant, and other international student grants.
This scholarship is not available if 100% of the student’s tuition cost is being covered by any single governmental benefit.
Yes. You probably should apply for federal financial aid, too. Scholarship awards will only reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your tuition, and financial aid can help pay for the rest. PLU’s school code is 003785. Detailed information is available at the Federal student aid website.
PLU’s employee tuition remission benefits cannot be used with this scholarship.
