Section 1. ELECTION POLICIES
- Faculty elections are conducted electronically.
- Ballots are normally to be completed within one week after distribution.
- Elections are conducted jointly by the Governance Committee and the faculty secretary, who acts jointly with the chair of the Governance Committee to officially certify the election results.
- After each election, a statement is issued to inform the faculty of the names of candidates who have been elected and of the positions still to be filled.
- At its discretion, the Governance Committee may inform the faculty of the total ballot count and of the rate of return of ballots.
Section 2. SENATE ELECTIONS
- Senate elections are normally conducted in March.
- The governance committee manages nominations. Candidates for senate elections must nominate themselves or agree to be nominated.
- The first request for nominations goes to the academic unit or group a senator represents. If no one from that unit or group is willing to be nominated, the position is opened to any regular faculty member.
