Dear Students,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 Academic Year! This academic year brings innovation and progress as a school as we launch several key initiatives. As I write this message we are set to launch our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Pending a successful Nursing Commission visit this month, we will welcome our first cohort of 24 students. Our site in Lynnwood will house the Clinical Laboratory, Simulation Suites and class rooms for this program. The 16-month program will admit three times a year and help contribute significantly to getting more BSN prepared nurses in the workforce in Washington. Another significant initiative was the PLU School of Nursing acquiring a nurse managed family practice clinic in Kent. This will facilitate student placements for our FNP students and other levels of students in primary care. It will also serve as a site for our APRN faculty to practice and obtain the necessary hours to maintain their certifications. Both of the mentioned initiatives align well with the Strategic Plan that was approved by the faculty during Spring 2022. Work has begun on preparing for our CCNE accreditation site visit for our baccalaureate and masters programs that is scheduled for April 2023. With program expansion, we continue to recruit additional well-qualified faculty to join our team.
Wishing everyone an outstanding and healthy Academic Year!
